paints in an expressive flourish. It’s like watching a fire burn as it feeds and charts a new path. There's not enough time on the clock to trace the images in his brain, laced with symbols and masks of warriors from the past, his bloodline in The Congo. He mixes the ancient with the modern, a future vision where technology and streamlined robotic forms meld with the past. To me, it's a personification of Afro-Futurism.

He's been here for eight years and just had his first show, and by material definitions, it was a success, but that's not his goal line. He wants to sustain people's lives back home, base himself in Atlanta, and have a presence in LA and beyond...When a celebrity art collector commissioned three pieces from him, he said that she could choose from the new series that he's creating. He didn't tailor his vision to the taste of anyone. He now has the resources to paint on larger canvases for more extended periods. To build a bridge that's in his mind. Fourteen hours a day, six days a week.

He sees things that we don't and understands connections aren't yet realized.

He's a #portraitofanartist and after our shoot and our spontaneous jam session, a #portraitofafriend
