Mari

has a radiance and inherent fluidity, a sense of purpose that emanates from her pours. She’s a ray of light, a beacon on a distant hill. Mari came into my life as an instructor at ModoYoga. One day I realized that I wanted to know more about her so I asked if we could have coffee and our friendship started from there. She’s a journalist and writes in Dutch, her native tongue so I have no idea what she’s saying but the research requirements and opportunities that her assignments create for her are fascinating. We’re new friends, both in different chapters of our lives so the connection is freshnand still forming.

For me Mari is a testament to staying open and creating connections with people that inspire or intrigue. It all just gets more interesting, I never know who will come into my life expand it’s boundaries and widen its course. My existence isn’t full unless I have a friend in every decade, I need many perspectives in order to fully appreciate our shared time on this planet. Mari’s light and gaze are looking forward, she has beautiful plans and I’m excited to assist her in any way I can. She is a #portraitofafriend in the making.
